Setting up a Seed Production Area can be a confusing process, but Greening Australia Capital Region has produced a new resource to assist people to understand the genetic issues involved and why they are important. Called "Sex in SPAs: Genetic issues in Seed Production Areas (SPAs)", the new document includes information on why genetics matters for Seed Production Areas, what the main genetic issues are, and how to establish a genetically healthy Seed Production Area. This resource is available from the Florabank website and can be downloaded as a .pdf file here.
Greening Australia Capital Region has also produced another useful publication on Seed Production Areas in 2008, called "Introducing Seed Production Areas: An Answer to Native Seed Shortages". This is also available as a .pdf file here.
